New bull at Chatham

Paulern Verdi on his first Show outing - Antrim Agricultural Show July 2007. Sired by Tamhorn Sumo and out of a Paulern cow by Jardinier de la Bonne Raie.

Lenborough Oliver

Imported from England as a yearling, after being purchased at the Carlisle Bull Sale in 1997, Oliver has proven to be a most successful purchase for us at Chatham. His sons have frequently been bull sale toppers and have been sought by many of the elite among cattlemen across the Province. His females have been stylish and in keen demand, maturing into great brood cows. These in turn have produced progeny with that extra power and stretch that we find to be so much in demand.

Oliver, who has become a household name, is an outstanding bull, being widely used as an AI sire in herds throughout the Province and UK. A combination of easy calving, colour marking and excellent prices for progeny, have meant that many who have used him once have asked for more! (semen)

Semen is currently available in the UK and Ireland, although we welcome interest and requests from other countries. See Semen Sales and Bovex Livestock

Railwayview Hector

Hector was purchased from the Mackey Bros, Dromore, at Automart Bull Sale, Portadown, in October 1992. He was probably the most influential bull we used, his progeny being very structurally correct and good in locomotion. These were found to be very useful commercially as bulls, and females that had character and wearability. Today they are looked upon as the backbone of our herd and continue to produce the type of bulls for which we at Chatham have become renowned for.

Stoneleigh Devonian Diablo

Diablo, we used as an AI sire with semen purchased from Bovex Livestock. This bull added extra muscle and yet had a calving survey of only 2% difficult. His calves had excellent colour marking, even when used on the black and white cows of the dairy herds. He and his legendary brother Stoneleigh Claudius were extensively used as AI sires, being in tremendous demand right to the end of their days. We still have some of this bloodline in our herd, which continue to make their mark.

Hazelwood Jupiter

Hazelwood Jupiter was also used as an AI sire with semen purchased from Bovex Livestock. Jupiter probably left his mark in the suckler herds, as expected he bred size and stretch into his progeny, not at the expense of carcass quality. These had a D.L.W.G. well above their contemporaries within the breed, Jupiter having an M.L.C. 500 day weight of 745 kg, 132 kg above his group average. Lour top price bull by Jupiter was sold at Automart for 4000gns.
